The Moon and Mars in Mutual Reception as Mars Revisits J-6

My First Predictions for Troublesome Days in 2025

Canopus is the second brightest star in the night time sky. It is only visible in locations at or below the 30th parallel (think Houston) and then only at certain times of the year. It is located in the constellation Argo at 15° Cancer. When conjunct Mars it is said to be “Cruel, bad-tempered, envious, jealous”.

Elon Musk has a Cancer Sun with Cancer rising at 13° and Mercury conjunct Canopus, on his 1st house cusp, at 14° Cancer.

Phillip K. Dick was born with Mars retrograde at 1° Cancer and Pluto retrograde at 17° Cancer. When Minority Report was released June 21, 2002 Mars was at 15° Cancer conjunct Canopus.

When Jordan Neely was born on 12/18/92 Mars was retrograde at 24° Cancer. Daniel Penny was born 7/22/98; his natal chart has a Cancer stellium consisting of Venus, Mars, Moon, and Sun with Canopus at the midpoint.

When Daniel Penny restrained Jordan Neely on 5/1/23, Mars was at 19° Cancer and Pluto was stationing retrograde at 0° Aquarius. On December 6th, 2024 Mars stationed retrograde at 6° Leo. Daniel Penny was acquitted on the 9th. Mars will again enter the sign of Cancer on January 6, 2025. Mars will station direct on 2/22/25 at 17° Cancer. It is interesting to note that Cancer is the sign of Mars “fall”. I think it would be reasonable to suggest that themes of “legal woes” weave their way throughout the lives of Philip K. Dick, Minority Report, Jordan Neely, Daniel Penny, and January 6th.

All of this Mars in Cancer made me feel some concern that the widespread violence we have all been fearing might finally occur today. Though it is apparent that the deep state shenanigans will undoubtedly continue to escalate, it is reassuring to see that people around the world are so far keeping their cool and not taking the bait. I am hopeful that we will not see any increase in violence, not today anyway, while Mars re-enters the sign of Cancer in the early morning.

When Trump is inaugurated on the 20th, the Sun will go to meet Pluto in the first degree of Aquarius. In my next post, I will have much to say about the increasingly mythological and malleable world that continues to become evermore a part of us.

The astrology for today shows the Moon and Mars entering into mutual reception, at 5:44 a.m., when Mars enters the Moon’s domicile of Cancer. The Moon as a signifier for “the people” located in the 6th house of sickness and servitude indicates a populace who is demoralized and turning inward. Mars, at the top of the chart, can be seen as a signifier for all of the malefic actions being enacted at this time. Triggered by the election of Donald Trump, on November 5th, the same day that Mars left the sign of Cancer and first entered Leo, there is no reason to expect that things are not going to get even more wild. The mutual reception, between the two planets, allows the two planets access to the resources of their home domiciles. The ‘out of sign’ trine between the two planets indicates an uncomfortable and temporary truce between the two factions. If there is imminent trouble brewing, I expect it will strike on January 23rd. Further out on the horizon, I see the week of March 5th being especially precarious for Trump. April 18th promises to have more surprises for the rest of us.
