Note for all those listening: The embedded audio strip, that follows this note, is an excerpt from The Sign of the Times by Stan Barker (1984). The book is currently out of print and very hard to find. It is a classic in the field of mundane astrology. It is an extraordinary ride through Neptune’s ingress into each of the zodiac signs that incorporates a vivid depiction of our American history from the beginning, through each chapter, to the end.
If you are listening on a mobile devices, the audio button located at the top of this page is an animated voice reading of this article and does not include the Stan Barker excerpt, but you can still hear The Sign of the Times excerpt by selecting the embedded audio link below.
Chapter 2
Outside of the bloody descriptions of war and fire contained within Time of the Sword what stands out most, for me, was the story that Mr. Barker told about the era of Reconstruction. Similar to the untrue stories we are told, as school children, about tariffs and how they have always been ineffective; it would seem that the stories we have been told about Reconstruction are also not true.
According to Stan Barker, before Vice President Andrew Johnson became president, both he and Lincoln were in agreement that the South should be reintegrated into the union quickly and as peacefully as possible and thereby avoid the creation of an occupied police state by the North against the South. Secretary of War Edwin Stanton, apparently had other ideas. From Wikipedia:
After Lincoln's assassination, Stanton remained as the secretary of war under the new U.S. president, Andrew Johnson, during the first years of Reconstruction. He opposed the lenient policies of Johnson towards the former Confederate States. Johnson's attempt to dismiss Stanton ultimately led to Johnson being impeached by the Radical Republicans in the House of Representatives.
Wikipedia leaves out the part where Stanton maintained martial law giving him wartime dictatorial powers exceeding those of the president himself even though the war was over. And there is more, all told here in the audio selections below from chapter 2, Time of the Sword.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that the story that is passed around in popular culture today is that President Johnson, the southerner from Tennessee, was somehow deserving of his impeachment. Further, that he was a weak president who should shoulder all of the blame and suffering that took place under Reconstruction. I know they like to keep these stories simple for our puny American brains, but that does not excuse the unjust vilification of president Lincoln’s chosen successor. I wonder why Wikipedia, far from correcting this “mis-information”, continues to expand upon its promulgation. You don’t think they might have an agenda?
Here is John Brown from the Showtime series The Good Lord Bird (2020) A fictionalized reenactment, made during the final years of this Pisces wave. This scene is drawn from the revolt at Harper’s Ferry in 1859, close to the end of the last Pisces wave.
The lyrics to the song John Brown’s Body were written sometime in the spring of 1861. Later that same year Julia Howe Ward rewrote the lyrics and the song became The Battle Hymn of the Republic which went on to be one of the most enduring traditional American hymns and patriotic songs in American history.
The songs transformation from an ode to the man who gave his life to the cause of abolition to a battle hymn that largely celebrates Mars, the God of War, provides for a memorable example of how the waves of Neptune can overlap and mix even in the most disparate of times. Even John Brown, who stated in his final speech that his only intention was to free the slaves, seems to have foreshadowed the coming Aries wave when in his own devout dissolution and mania he attempted to incite a slave revolt at Harper’s Ferry.
Writing in 1984, Stan Barker expresses grave concerns when he attempts to imagine what an especially bloody and fiery war waged in the 21st century would be like. His concerns have indeed come to be born out through drone warfare, directed-energy weapons (DEW), and the likelihood of other implements of war that remain concealed. Russian missile technology like the Oreshnik, that was only revealed this past November, have speeds and capabilities which according to Mike Pompeo, and others, go far beyond what is being reported by Reuters.
While the prospect of 21st century warfare is certainly horrifying, I believe that what is equally concerning is the vulnerable state of our infrastructure. Like the awesome destructive power of nuclear warheads, it may be the inter-connectedness of the modern world that will ultimately restrain our adversaries from escalating to a full-scale world war. While this may deter us and other nations from all out war it will, however, do little to stop an angry group of undocumented criminals facing deportation, or deep-state bureaucrats facing their own extinction. International supply chains could easily be disrupted by small rogue nations as well as small bands of terrorist groups using cheap drone technology or other methods of warfare more familiar to the 11th century warrior.
When the first shots of the Civil War were fired on April 12th, 1861 at Fort Sumter, South Carolina, Neptune was at 29° Pisces 56`. Eleven hours later Neptune would ingress into the sign of Aries at 3:30pm on April 13. It is interesting to note that the last time Neptune went retrograde on July 2nd, 2024, Neptune was at 29° Pisces 55.9` before it changed directions. While I may have a healthy skepticism of all things, I also don’t believe in coincidences. Neptune coming right up to the very edge of 29° Pisces 56` before turning around to recede back into the sign of Pisces feels like a warning shot to me. This time Neptune will not go up and knock on the door of Aries. On March 30th, she will plow right on in!
(The 2nd wave: 1861-1874)
Fig. 1 shows the chart for the beginning of the Civil War on the left, and the Neptune Aries ingress chart for March 30th, 2025 on the right. Comparing the two charts there are several things of note:
Mercury, in both charts, is in Pisces the sign of its detriment and fall.
In both charts, Venus and Mercury are both oriental to the Sun. Though Venus is under the beams of the Sun and cannot be seen, the oriental position identifies it with the warrior (Lucifer) side of Venus. If Venus were visible, it would be seen in the east in the morning sky.
In the Civil War chart both of the luminaries (Sun, Moon) are below the horizon. In the 2025 chart the Sun is above the horizon giving us a glimmer of hope.
In both charts, the Moon is new.
Without making any comparisons some things stand out in the Civil War chart by itself:
Pluto is between the two luminaries and square to Jupiter. Jupiter is the the chart ruler for the Civil War chart and the Sibly chart, see (fig. 2), the birth chart of the U.S.
Mars at 6° Gemini is within a few degrees of Uranus in the Sibly chart where it is at 8° Gemini 55`. Uranus in Gemini is a marker for the U.S. at war during the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, WWII, and now yet to be determined if this will hold true in the coming years when it will make its 3rd return. Uranus will not fully pass its position in the Sibly chart until May of 2028.
Uranus at the beginning of the Civil War is less than 1° from the Uranus of the Sibly chart (fig. 2).
Looking at the 2025 Neptune ingress chart, right side of (fig. 1), we see:
5 of the 7 traditional planets are in the 12th house of hospitals and incapacitation.
The only planet above the horizon and not in the 12th house is Pluto in the strong angular 10th house “…the most important and powerful of all the houses in mundane astrology and bodies here have a wide significance” (1). At 3° Aquarius 31`, Pluto is in a tight square to the ascendant and descendant axis.
Mars and the Moon are in a tight square and in mutual reception. The mutual reception makes both planets strong but the square denotes tension and possible conflict. Mars, planet of war, is the only traditional planet that is in a strong angular house and also on a house cusp (within 5°). The Moon, signifying “the people” is in the weak cadent 12th house where Mars is a co-ruler. While the Moon rules the 3rd house of communications and 4th house of the homeland it is in a relatively weak position. Mars on the other hand, rules the 7th house of open enemies (China, Russia) and of fugitives (undocumented immigrants). In this chart, Mars is also co-ruler of the 12th house of “Banished, alienated or imprisoned persons” (2).
The only two traditional planets that are not in 12th house are below the horizon. They are Jupiter in Gemini, the sign of its detriment; and Mars in Cancer, the sign of its fall (an occupying force?).
Looking at (fig. 3) and (fig. 4) below it is interesting to note that the distance traveled by Uranus from its position in the 2025 Neptune ingress chart to it position in the Sibly chart is a mere 11` of arc greater than the distance Uranus traveled from the beginning of WWII to its end in the European theatre four years later. You might be able to chalk this up to a rather contrived coincidence until you consider the fact that Uranus is tracking within 3° of the zodiac between the two bi-wheel charts. An area of the Zodiac that has already been identified as a signifier for wartime in America.
A short list of coincidences that bares mentioning even though I don’t attach any specific astrological meaning to them are the following:
The chart for the end of WWII at Tokyo Bay, Japan shows Uranus at 17° Gemini. This lines up with Trump’s natal chart where Uranus is also at 17° Gemini.
The Civil War chart, left side of (fig. 1), features Jupiter stationing direct at 17° Leo. This is 60° in front of Trump’s natal Uranus at 17° Gemini, AND 60° behind Trump’s natal Jupiter that is ALSO stationing direct, at 17° Libra.
Promoting preparation for an uncertain prediction of widespread fire, war, and generalized mayhem might on its surface appear irresponsible, but considering only a handful of people will even contemplate taking this seriously, I’m not too worried about that. Forewarned is forearmed could also be seen as an opportunity to get to know one’s neighbors and identity the more vulnerable in your communities. Buying supplies that will keep over time and focusing on items that you will eventually use in any event, can’t hurt in my estimation. While it might be inflationary in the short run, it could rev up the economy, create jobs, and if my forecast proves prescient then it will provide for a cushion of comfort or even survival. At any rate, these are all recommendations being talked about elsewhere. Thanks to our current healthcare system, most of us are lucky to have a full one month supply of our prescription medications. There are overseas sources that can supply non-control drug prescriptions if you can afford them; even generic medications can be quite costly. Those near the border may be able to secure medications in Canada or Mexico.
I recently learned that members of the Church of Latter Day Saints are expected to maintain a two year supply of food and essentials at all times. Though I have done some prepping, I have completed no where near that level of planning and prepping. Living in an urban dwelling could get grim quickly unless you are fortunate enough to have neighbors that you know well and who are themselves preparing. I’m guessing that this is a fraction of a fraction of the people in cities today. There are any number of scenarios that could play out in the coming weeks, months, and years. I think most would agree that we are in for some rough patches ahead. Even those who believe that the end of the Kali Yuga is slated for this March, an interesting coincidence, where it is said that this ending will be followed by a cleansing purge of fire lasting for thousands of years. Well, so much for happy endings. Hopefully this is not a literal fire that we should be expecting.
The uncertainty of our future could be seen as an opportunity to draw back together, for the first time in a very long time, the brotherhood of mankind. While most people do not foresee devastation ahead, I believe that most when questioned would agree that uncertain times are in our future. I think that most would go even further and agree that our lives will become increasingly more challenging and difficult. Maybe this is a good thing. Perhaps we have, as a people, become too soft.
Will we casually stand by as the ultra-wealthy build billion dollar expansive bomb shelters fortified with all of the fruits and excesses they expect to have in order to satisfy their enormous appetites? All of this protected by the best security systems and personnel that money can buy? More importantly will we neglect an opportunity to meet our neighbors and formulate plans to protect the most vulnerable amongst us? If we are expected to begin preparing now then surely answer is surely no, we will not be ready. If we are allotted a warning and some additional time, then perhaps.
I believe in having a healthy amount of skepticism about pretty much everything. There have been some interesting arguments and supporting evidence that Nuclear weapons do not exist. I do tend to believe that nuclear weapons are a reality. Even given that belief, if I were a member of the ultra-wealthy, I would still have little desire to survive in a post apocalyptic world. The fact that the ultra-wealthy have done everything to save their own skins and nothing to deal with the root causes of the world’s current predicament says volumes about just how dark their souls are. Most of them don’t believe that they have a soul, and perhaps it is because they don’t. Their hubris, narcissism, and total lack of concern for their fellow man has lead them to believe that their ever advancing technology will save them and even allow them, the deserving ones, to have eternal life on this earth.
Unfortunately, I can’t think of a more incendiary way to die in a time of apocalypse than burning up at the center of a nuclear blast. According to the National Library of Medicine (NLM) “Nuclear weapon explosions can produce temperatures of about 100 million degrees Celsius at their center, about four to five times that which occurs at the center of the Sun.” Now, I think they might be talking some BS! If not, you’re going to have to be at a location far more remote than Kansas if you’re expecting to survive a world war that goes nuclear. At any rate, before it’s too late be sure to share, subscribe, and comment!
Postscript: This video dovetails nicely with this post. Trump was born during a month with three eclipses. There was a solar eclipse two weeks before and another one two weeks after the date on which he was born. When he was born on June 14th, 1946 there was a lunar eclipse. This gives a nice symbolic representation of his presidency that was signified by two terms with 4 years in between. Also, the mention at the very outset, of this video, about the number 17 and other symbolic representations around 9-11 and the space between the towers is striking. Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower at 8:46 a.m.; flight 175 crashed into the South Tower at 9:03 a.m., 17 minutes later. As has been noted by others, Trump is the 45th and 47th president where the numbers can also be read as 9-11.
