From Paul Haydn’s The Astrological Moon (1998) p.183:
Disseminating Personality (135° to 90°)
As the concept of dissemination implies, what is most important to this personality type is to release and sow “seeds,” which are often related to ideas and insights, which have made a profound personal impression and are also considered to have a universal or social significance. The mental process for this personality is initially to assemble ideas, attitudes, perceptions, insights, revelations, and knowledge. This is followed by a period of evaluation and synthesis into a new and coherent pattern, which will result in an innovative “seed” for communication to others, to ensure it's perpetuation and future growth.
The motivating impulse is to impress and inspire others, teaching or converting them to perceive things in a similar manner, and creating a resonating affinity group to expand their ideas. This involves a degree of popularization, introducing a wider public to ideas which previously had not been socially anchored.
There can be a tendency to adopt a crusading mantle, and, if this impulse operates through either an unintegrated personality, or an ego with powerful separatist attitudes, a negative manifestation can emerge, conditioned by fanaticism, obsessive adherence to a cause, or manipulative evocations of the collective emotional level.
N Node in Leo (p.214)
For personal growth, you need to determine clearly your life direction and then focus and apply willpower to achieve objectives. This can be a challenge, as you tend to dissipate energies in different directions, partly due to a lack of future planning. You need to realize that you shape future experiences through the consequences of thoughts, actions, values, and attitudes. What you do today creates your tomorrow, and a favorable future depends on choices and decisions in the present. If choices are misguided, you will face the inevitable disappointing consequences later…
Moon’s North Node 1st House, South Node 7th House (p.227):
Your focus for personal development will concern identity and relationship issues. You may become dependent on others and, in so doing, submerge your identity in the process, perhaps by displaying a passivity to their will, desires, and needs. You may lack self-esteem, as your self-image often reflects others’ perceptions and evaluations of you. This can be misleading, perhaps creating a distorted self perception, particularly since you allow others’ views, and opinions to influence your actions and behavior. Yet relationships will be important, and you can devote much time trying to satisfy these partnership needs.
You need freedom from dependency on others. Learn how to be more independent and forge a unique identity, instead of relying on others to define it for you. Through self-understanding, you can live by your own light. But, until this is achieved, you probably will remain too influenced by another’s persuasion. What may occur is that, through your desire to please others, you deny and repress your own identity, needs, and desires, and through misplaced self sacrifice, lose contact with your deeper being.
While you recognize the value of relationship cooperation and harmony, being too passive and submissive to more assertive personalities becomes damaging. There are alternate ways of relating, however, which can benefit all concerned. Discovering this alternate path is your challenge. You may have to assert your needs and desires in a way which does not create conflict. Perhaps due to previously relying on others to decide actions, when you become more assertive, you encounter friction with those who have almost taken you for granted. They may find it difficult to deal with the emerging “new you”. Such difficulties must be faced and relationships must be re-balanced and adjusted; reverting to a submissive or passive attitude will be detrimental to inner growth.
Ideally, this developing self-expression will be balanced with an openness to experience the richness and complexity offered by relationships. Initially, this may cause relationship challenges, and your assertiveness may be inappropriate at times. Moderation may be necessary, especially if you suddenly act as a “new you” overnight, or try to dominate others. You need awareness of how you are treating others as you move from a passive to an active role in your relationships. Care is required as you unfold your personality and when harmonizing your needs with those of your partners. For some, the transition could involve dissolving older relationships, and later forming new ones more suitable for the new phase. Growth rarely happens overnight; it will come slowly and with considerable effort. But retain faith that your struggles will create great personal benefit and freedom.
Mars is closely conjunct the South Node. The South Node makes malefic planets more evil. The Mars/Moon square is by association made more difficult by the placement of the South Node. See The Moon at Work for more on the Moon/Mars square. Mars in this chart is, by the 5 degree rule, placed in the malefic 8th house of death, debt, taxes, and worries. Modern astrologers don’t like to think of astrology as fatalistic. With a chart like this, you can imagine why I might be attracted to a more traditional approach. Speaking of a more Modern approach…
From Sasha Fenton’s How To Read Your Star Signs (1998) p.225:
Moon in Scorpio …it must be remembered that this is the sign of the Moon’s ‘fall’ and therefore, projects some of the most difficult aspects of both the sign and the planet. Scorpio’s influence on the Moon adds intensity to the nature, also tenacity, capability and strong resistance to disease. It endows its natives with a strong instinct for survival plus an attraction to the more dangerous aspects of life. If this is your moon placement, you have a tremendous ability to bounce back from illness, disappointment, and even the door of death itself…
Your sexual feelings are intense, if not fully gratified, you can become extremely irritable; you might even engineer arguments in order to ‘rev up’ the sexual excitement. Your deepest need is for a stable relationship with a reliable person who has a high and interesting sexual drive! If you do not find satisfaction within your marriage, you will look for it on the outside. You may fancy the occasional perversion! In this aspect of your life, as in all others, you cannot seem to compromise. You must not try to reform your partners, but try to learn to accept them as they are. It would be better if you could pour your energies and reforming drive into the outside world in order to bring about beneficial changes. The ability to do this would depend upon other political and reforming factors on your birth chart. Your compelling nature makes you a pretty exciting lover, but you are sensitive enough to ‘tune in’ to the needs of your partner and give as much pleasure as you yourself would like to receive. Depending upon your mood at the time, you can be extremely receptive to the needs of those around you or surprisingly (maybe conveniently) dense. This depends upon your mood and the state of your health at any one time.
There is some evidence of homosexuality and bisexuality being associated with this Moon sign. You may even marry someone who is attracted to their own sex.
Sasha Fenton’s Moon sign interpretations are all quite lively and, more often than not, good for a few hearty laughs. If your company is skeptical, and easily bored, just skip to the sexy parts to regain their attention. Much of her work is drawn from questionnaires that she herself created and distributed.
We can’t leave the Moon behind without a good look at the Stars. This from Vivian Robson’s The Fixed Stars & Constellations in Astrology (1923).
Achernar — located at the mouth of the river in the constellation Eridanus; is of the influence of Jupiter. It is symbolized by the Cherub and the Sword and gives success in public office, beneficence, and religion. A magnitude-1 star, at 14° Pisces 45`, it is 54` of arc past the natal Venus.
Zuben Elgenubi (South Scale) — located in the southern scale of the constellation Libra. Called the “Insufficient Price”, it is of the nature of Saturn/Mars. It causes malevolence, obstruction, and unforgiving character, violence, disease, lying, crime, disgrace, and danger of poison.
With Moon — trouble through opposite sex, wrongful accusations, disgrace, ruin, mental anxiety, loss of relatives, many disappointments, much sickness, disease in those parts of the body ruled by the sign. A magnitude-3 star, at 14° Scorpio 33`, it was located 52` of arc before the natal Moon. It is at this time exact to the Moon’s natal position.
“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.”
— Philip K. Dick
Very interesting. I’m impressed with the level of detail.
