The First Water Wave: Establishment of America's Melting Pot Identity
Teddy Roosevelt, religious fervor, feminism, the eight hour work day, child labor laws, and the NAACP
Note for all those listening: The embedded audio strip, that follows this note, is an excerpt from The Sign of the Times by Stan Barker (1984). The book is currently out of print and very hard to find. It is a classic in the field of mundane astrology. It is an extraordinary ride through Neptune’s ingress into each of the zodiac signs that incorporates a vivid depiction of our American history from the beginning, through each chapter, to the end.
If you are listening on a mobile devices, the audio button located at the top of this page is an animated voice reading of this article and does not include the Stan Barker excerpt, but you can still hear The Sign of the Times excerpt by selecting the embedded audio link below.
Chapter 5
Here in the first months of 2025, as we are winding down through the final months of our time in Neptune in Pisces, I thought it would be an interesting exercise to consider how these past 14 years of Neptune in Pisces have been similar to those of 1901-1916 Cancer wave.
In the Cancer wave many women characters and issues of central concern to women took center stage. During the current Pisces wave, though we have yet to elect a woman as president, two woman did run competitive campaigns after being nominated to run as the Democratic Party’s representative. Increasing numbers of women continue to be elected to Congress and other elected offices. Two of the four Supreme Court justices confirmed during this Pisces wave were woman. Also, during this period the “me too” movement took hold, gay marriage was legalized, and LGBT+ people were finally allowed to serve openly in the military. LGBT+ rights along with the “woke” movement gained steam through the 2020s. DEI policies and Black Lives Matter resulted in so much change, and controversy, that it likely contributed to Donald Trump’s winning reelection to the presidency with the help of record numbers of minority voters casting their ballot for the Republican candidate. There has been a renewed concern over child and human trafficking along with immigration becoming a central issues due the millions of undocumented immigrants entering the country. The Harris campaign ran adds depicting men as incompetent fools incapable of doing anything. This was a direct throw-back to the early 1900s when foolish male characters were portrayed in advertising and on the stage. The book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900) has returned in this wave in the form of the critically acclaimed movie musical Wicked (2024).
While our involvement in South America has not been very notable, president Trump has proposed a United States of North America that would include Canada, Greenland, and the taking back of the Panama Canal built during the Cancer wave.
While there have been some reports of religious revivals during this wave, I would characterize the Christian fundamentalist movement as having become mostly muted compared to the past decades of the 70s and 80s. While there has clearly been much emotional fervor and proselytizing, I’m not sure I would characterize it as particularly religious in nature. Church attendance has steadily declined and many church pews today are now empty and filled primarily with middle-aged to elderly parishioners.
The intense focus on “disclosure” and the question of alien life visiting and or inhabiting earth has been a very big theme for this current Pisces wave. The question of alien inhabitants has grown to include asking whether these “visitors” might be from other places than outer-space such as other dimensions, underground, or even under the sea. The fervor and intensity of this movement has approached a religious intensity at times. The reports of other worldly visitors include ethereal beings that come in a vast array of sizes, colors, and shapes. They aircraft they reportedly arrive in also comes in a multitude of forms that never seem to leave any solid evidence behind. This phenomenon, while not religious, has a uniquely Piscean and Neptunian flavor. Some have speculated that if any real disclosure comes it could result in the beginnings of a new world religion. If these beings want disclosure to occur before the end of the Pisces wave, they had better hurry. The Pisces wave will begin to transition on March 30th when Neptune will first enter Aries. Due to the planets habit of moving “backwards” by retrograde motion, the final day of Neptune in Pisces will be January 27th, 2026.
Very interesting.
