"Located on the 2nd house cusp, of supporters and assistance from others...".
Just the opposite. It is the EIGHTH house which is assistance from others, as the 8th is in the west, begun in the 7th house of marriage and partnerships and relationships in general.
The SECOND house shows one's PERSONAL resources; the EIGHTH house shows one's SOCIAL resources.
With all due respect I follow the school of traditional astrology teaching. Specifically, I use Deborah Houlding's book The Houses Temples of the Sky. Your idea that the 8th house follows the 7th is not incorrect, but my interpretation sees the 7th house as the house of partnership and open enemies. Accordingl, the 8th house is the house of the partners resources, or opponents resources. If I was involved in a lawsuit, where I had brought the case, I would look to the 8th house for my opponent's resources and to the 2nd house for my own.
Main Rulerships: "All matters relating to loss, decay, death, and the fear and anxiety attached to these. The quality and nature of death. Who shall be heir to the deceased. Unexpected inheritance, wills, legacies and testaments of the deceased".
She goes on to deal with the question of alternate schools of thought regarding the 8th house, and so I will also quote that section "...yet psychological astrology often refers to it as a house of inner transformation and growth. Transformation is probably too large a concept to be contained within any one house, but the positive element of it accompanies the burst of creativity that occurs after the processes of this house are completed. Only by facing our innermost fears are we able to overcome them and move on with the strength of experience and wisdom. But this house is not relevant to the period of growth; it's concern is the inhibiting factors that stand in our way. It is a house of personal vulnerability, albeit perhaps a necessary vulnerability from which we may eventually gain. It is wise to avoid any financial gambles or high risk activities during periods when this house is heavily emphasized."
Thank-you for taking the time to read, and comment on, my article. You are one of the precious few!
I don't see anything you write which applies to Ringo's chart per se, which you referred to and used in your discussion of the events surrounding the Rooftop "Concert". That is, "Ringo (Sun-Cancer) providing support and rhythmic structure to the Beatles’ compositions with his understated playing and steady hand".
This is a clear reference to Ringo's personal resources and gifts which he received by being born. That is what the Second House is. It reflects our personal resources irrespective of others. It is the natural successor to the First House, which is all about personal attributes.
You said it yourself. The Seventh is the house of "partners resources, or opponents resources"; but this definition is too limiting. Each part of the whole horoscope of an individual is multi-faceted. For example, the Eighth house is about inheritances, and these come from others, not something the native is born with.
Ringo in the 2nd house is playing a supporting role as opposed to John and Paul playing leading roles in the 10th house of fame and prestige or Paul represented by the ascendant degree and 1st house as it was at his behest that the Beatles play a live show.
To be fair what I am doing here is not in any way conventional and I am utilizing a fair degree of artistic license. I would characterize the article as a mash-up of event, mundane, and natal astrology. And so, I am drawing from each to make my case that the stars on that day seemed to be reflecting each of the Beatles lives including Billy Preston. I also found the chart by itself to be rather charmed and astounding.
